2007 Knoxville NationalsHistory repeated itself when Donny Schatz captured his 2nd Knoxville Nationals title on Saturday, August 11. Starting from pole position Schatz dominated to lead home Joey Saldana and Terry McCarl in third. The defending champion earned himself US$150,000 for his efforts, and continues a stunning run, which includes taking out the 2007 Kings Royal on July 14.
ASCS Knoxville NationalsOklahoma native Shane Stewart triumphed at the 2007 ASCS Knoxville Nationals on August 4. Stewart, who scored US$10,000 for the win, took the checkered flag ahead of Wayne Johnson (Oklahoma City, OK) and Gary Wright (Hooks, TX).
World of Outlaws updateWith 53 nights of racing already in the books, the 2007 World of Outlaws series is getting to the serious end of the championship. Donny Schatz (7328) currently holds a 93 point advantage over season long adversary Joey Saldana (7235). Holding down third is Danny Lasoski (6981) with Daryn Pittman (6862) and Steve Kinser (6859) rounding out the top 5. The next event on the schedule is on August 14 at North Dakotaís Nodak Speedway followed by two nights of racing at Canadaís Castrol Raceway on August 17 & 18.

Wright increases ASCoT championship leadGary Wright has increased his lead in the ASCoT championship after a stellar month which captured him 6 feature victories out of 8 races and the 15th Annual ASCS Sizzlin' Summer Speedweek title. Wright (3840) now leads Wayne Johnson (3784) by 56 points with only 8 races left in the championship. Rounding out the top five is Jason Johnson (3742), Travis Rilat (3584) and Foster Landon (3176). The series now takes an extended break before the final run to the championship continues at West Plains Motor Speedway (West Plains, MO) on September 29.

Darland takes Indiana SpeedweekDave Darland of Lincoln, IND won the 2007 Lucas Oil Indiana Sprint Week on July 21 from Jon Stanbrough and Levi Jones for his third ISW. Comprising 8 nights of racing at 6 different tracks, the ISW was fiercely contested. Levi Jones (1206) heads the championship from Darren Hagen (1102), Dave Darland (1025), Brady Bacon (904) and Ricky Stenhouse Jr (850). The USAC National Sprint Car Series next heads to Sharon Speedway, Hartford, OH on August 25.

All Stars UpdateAs the All Starís begin their annual Thunder Through the Plains, Indianaís Danny Smith (3723) heads the ASCoC leaderboard ahead of Greg Wilson (3624) and Brian Paulus (3612). Rolling Plains Speedway, Hays, KS hosts the next round of the series on August 14, followed two nights of racing at the Riverside Speedway, West Memphis, AR.

07/08 WSS Schedule ReleasedSpeedway Promotions Australia (SPA) recently released the schedule for the 2007/2008 World Series Sprintcars Championship. Taking off in Perth, WA on November 9, 2007, the schedule includes 15 nights of racing, concluding in Brisbane, QLD on January 12, 2008.
In another major announcement, Rob Harris revealed that the major prize for the winning contracted team for the 2007/2008 World Series Championship will be a brand new race prepared 410ci engine.
