Wilson snatches All Star ChampionshipGreg Wilson has won the 2007 O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Championship (ASCoC) by just 2 points after a thrilling showdown with Danny Smith at the season finale on September 15. Wilson and Smith entered the Lawrenceburg Speedway pits in a tie for the $50,000 championship after Smith cut Wilson’s three point lead to zero on the preliminary night. Wilson started the A-main event from the front row and looked as though he would win the title over 10th place starting Smith. An early spin by Smith all but sealed his fate as Wilson lead the race early on, but then Wilson nearly brought it all undone after his nose wing was knocked loose. Dropping several spots, Wilson was falling into the clutches of Smith, who continued to climb through the field. Smith fought for position after position until there was only one car between him and Wilson when he ran out of laps in the 50 lap event. Wilson finishing the championship with 5633 points to Smith's 5631. Third was Brian Paulus (5322), Brandon Martin (5244)was fourth and Paul May (5138) rounded out the top 5.
