Wright maintains slender lead in ASCoTThree-time and reigning American Sprint Cars on Tour (ASCoT) series champion Gary Wright of Hooks, TX, opened up a 97-point lead on the strength of 14 consecutive top-five feature finishes, only to have much of that lead dwindle away when he was foreced to use a provisional starting position at Susquehanna Speedway Park on May 24.A night later, Louisiana's Jason Johnson, third in the championship, surrendered much of the ground he had gained the previous night when he crashed while dicing for second at Virginia Motor Speedway. The benefactor over the month of May was Oklahoma City's Wayne Johnson, who is now second in the championship, only 28 points behind Wright. Click here to view the current top 5 points leaders. The O'Reilly American Sprint Cars on Tour National series next moves to the first annual ASCS Northern Plains Speedweek, beginning at Crawford County Speedway, IA on June 16.
