An Aussie Sprint Car legend passesAussie Sprintcar legend George Tatnell passed away on Sunday, May 13. The father of World of Outlaws star Brooke, Tatnell began his racing career in 1962, he would go on to be one of Australiaís most successful drivers.
A multi Australian Speedcar (Midget) champion, Tatnell was also the first driver to win both the Australian Speedcar and Sprintcar Titles and was the inaugural Australian Sprintcar Series Champion (now known as World Series Sprintcars). Weather woes continue to haunt All StarsThe All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) has again had a weather plagued start to their championship. Out of 11 events so far this season, five have been weather affected, with Attica Raceway Park faring the worst. Events scheduled on April 6 & 7 at Attica were snowed out, with the feature of the make-up show scheduled for May 25 also postponed due to rain.

Wright maintains slender lead in ASCoTThree-time and reigning American Sprint Cars on Tour (ASCoT) series champion Gary Wright of Hooks, TX, opened up a 97-point lead on the strength of 14 consecutive top-five feature finishes, only to have much of that lead dwindle away when he was foreced to use a provisional starting position at Susquehanna Speedway Park on May 24.
A night later, Louisiana's Jason Johnson, third in the championship, surrendered much of the ground he had gained the previous night when he crashed while dicing for second at Virginia Motor Speedway.
The benefactor over the month of May was Oklahoma City's Wayne Johnson, who is now second in the championship, only 28 points behind Wright. Click here to view the current top 5 points leaders.
