Saldana wins on returnJoey Saldana returned to Sprint Car racing with a dominating feature victory at Hartford Motor Speedway on Wednesday, September 21. Saldana climbed back into the driver’s seat of the Kasey Kahne Racing number 9 after being sidelined for nine weeks due to serious injuries suffered at Eldora Speedway on July 16. As a result of the accident Saldana had two plates and 25 screws inserted into his right forearm. Saldana also suffered rib injuries, causing a partially collapsed lung. Ironically, this is the second year in a row that Saldana’s championship hopes have been dashed by accidents at Eldora Speedway. In March 2010 Saldana broke his left hand, requiring eight screws and a plate, and in September he suffered a concussion at the track.
